ANNA PARKS ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
Monday, November 21st @ 6:00 PM
Municipal Complex, Development Services Conference Room

The Parks Advisory Board of the City of Anna met
at

PM, on November 21st, 2022, at the Municipal
Complex,
Development Services Conference Room, located
at
120
W. 7th
Street, to consider the following items:
1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum
Parks Advisory Board Member Eirik Hansen called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm.
Parks Advisory Board Member Jeff Reece was absent.
Staff present included Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services Jeff Freeth, Recreation Neighborhood
Services Director Marc Marchand, Park Planning and Development Manager Dalan Walker, and City Council
Members Stan Carver and Pete Cain.
2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance
Parks Advisory Board Member Eirik Hansen led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Reports
a. Parks
Superintendent
Matt Lewis reported
on Parks Maintenance including
adding benches to Natural
Springs Park, clearing out medians on FM 455, adding concrete walkway at the dog park along, etc.
b. Assistant Director of Neighborhood Services Jeff Freeth reported on recreation programs and events
including the conclusion of the city soccer league's first season, the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony,
and the�hew winter recreation guide.
4. Project Updates
a. Park Planning and Development Manager Dolan Walker provided an update on the Bryant Park project
which included grading and a shade structure added over the playground.
b. Park Planning and Development Manager Dalan Walker provided an update on the Johnson Park field
lighting project. There has been a delay and the lights are now expected in January.
c. Planning and Development Manager Dalan Walker provided updates on the following projects at Slayter
Creek Park: disc golf concrete pads completed, wheeled sports park project construction agreement was
sent to council for approval, and an electrical engineer has been hired to master plan the park.
d. Park Planning and Development Manager Dalan Walker provided an update on the Sherley Heritage
Park train tracks project noting that the train tracks have been completed and the historic train car
should be added by end of December.
5. Individual Consideration
a. Discuss "Telling our Story' and future communication opportunities.

Board members discussed ways to keep Anna residents informed of events and park projects.
Mackenzie Jenks suggested adding signage at park locations with upcoming events/listed on them. Jon
Schwyzer mentioned making the recreation page on the city website easier to access. Other suggestions
included increasing social media posts to notify residents of upcoming events and dropping off
recreation guides at local businesses.
b. Discuss, Consider and Acton Parks Advisory Board meeting minutes from October 17th, 2022.
MOTION: Parks Advisory Board Member Elden Baker moved to approve the Minutes. Parks Advisory
Board Member Andrew Michrina seconded. Motion carried.
6. Adjourn
Parks Advisory Board Member Eirik Hansen adjourned the meeting at 7:36 pm.
