Home My WebLink AboutRes 2023-05-1440 Authorizing City Manager Execute Agreement with Grantham & AssociatesCITY OF ANNA, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 2-4 � 3 - 0 5 - (y 4 d A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROJECT SPECIFIC PURCHASE ORDER FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS AND GRANTHAM & ASSOCIATES, INCORPORATED FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES RELATED TO THE SLATER CREEK ROAD WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, IN A FORM APPROVED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, PER THE PROPOSAL SHOWN IN EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Anna is the owner and operator of an undersized water main located in a utility easement along Slater Creek Road; and, WHEREAS, the undersized water main is in poor condition and must be replaced; and, WHEREAS, the services provided by Grantham & Associates, Incorporated will be funded through the Utility Department Funds in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget; and, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. Recitals Incorporated. The recitals above are incorporated herein as if set forth in full for all purposes. Section 2. Authorization. A. That the funding shall be $90,115 in Utility Department Funds. B. That the City Council hereby approves entering into and authorizes the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Grantham & Associates, Incorporated for the scope of services identified in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Powell Pkwy Anna, TX 75409 Re: Slater Creek Road Water Improvements Proposal for Engineering and Surveying Services Dear Justin: Pursuant to your request, Grantham & Associates, Inc. (G&A) has prepared this proposal for engineering and surveying services associated with approximately 2,500 linear feet of water line replacement in Slater Creek Road. Scope of Services The scope of services for this project has been separated into Basic and Special Services as summarized below. Basic Services • Perform a topographic survey and property line survey of the corridor. • Plot plats and deeds along the project corridor. • Prepare 30%, 90%, and 100% plans for the improvements. • Prepare a quantity take -off and Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) with each submittal. • Prepare bid documents and assist the City in bidding the project. • Provide construction support services to the City and prepare Record Drawings. Snecial Services • Prepare up to five (5) water easements. • An unforeseen items allowance is provided for additional services that may be required, such as subsurface utility engineering (SUE) potholes and TxDOT coordination. Assumptions • No field surveying will be performed in order to prepare Record Drawings; City and Contractor plan markups will be used exclusively. • G&A will prepare an Erosion Control Plan but the contractor will prepare a SWPPP. Fee The sheet count provided as Exhibit A was used to determine the design fee. The manhour estimate provided in Exhibit B was used to determine the fees for all phases except the engineering phase. The Opinion of Probable Construction Cost is included in Exhibit C. Mr. Justin Clay, CPM April 12, 2023 Page 2 Lump Sum (LS) fees are proposed except as noted as a Cost Plus (C+) reimbursable fee. The Cost -Plus fees provided shall not be exceeded without prior written approval of the City.
