HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 072-2003 Residential Building Permit Fees.pdfCITY OF ANNA, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 72-2003 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION; ESTABLISHING MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES FOR SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION; ESTABLISHING ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES FOR SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION; ESTABLISHING PLUMBING PERMIT FEES FOR SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION; ESTABLISHING MISCELLANEOUS PERMIT FEES; AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING OFFICIAL TO DEVELOP AND USE BUILDING, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND MISCELLANEOUS PERMIT APPLICATION FORMS AS NECESSARY TO ADMINISTER CITY BUILDING CODES; REPEALING PROVISIONS OF ANY ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE; SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna has determined that the existing building permit schedules need to be adjusted to insure greater equity and fairness in administration and to insure that city costs for conducting inspections and administration of building ordinances and codes are covered ; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and accepts the recommendations of the City's building official regarding building permit fees; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS: Section 1. Building Permit Fees Building permit fees for single family residential construction are hereby established and detailed in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made an integral part of this ordinance. Section 2. Mechanical Permit Fees Mechanical permit fees for single family residential construction are hereby established and detailed in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made an integral part of this ordinance. Section 3. Electrical Permit Fees Electrical permit fees for single family residential construction are hereby established and detailed in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made an integral part of this ordinance. Section 4. Plumbing Permit Fees Plumbing permit fees for single family residential construction are hereby established and detailed in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made an integral part of this ordinance. Enclosed Area Defined Building and electrical permit fees are based on total square footage of the enclosed area of the structure, including garages, utility rooms, and other rooms/areas that may or may not be air conditioned. Section 6. Miscellaneous Building Permit Fees Miscellaneous building permit fees are hereby established and detailed in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made an integral part of this ordinance. Section 7. Permit Application Forms The building official of the City is hereby authorized to develop and use permit application forms as required to administer the building codes and ordinances of the City of Anna. Section 8. Repeal Clause All parts of any ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 9. Penalties Any violation of any of the terms of this ordinance, whether herein denominated as unlawful or not, shall be deemed a misdemeanor. Any person convicted of any such violation shall be fined in an amount not to exceed two thousand dollars for each incidence of violation. Each day of the continuance of such violation shall be considered a separate offense and be punished separately. Section 10. Effective Date This ordinance shall be effective upon the posting and/or publication of its caption as required by law and the City Secretary is hereby directed to implement such posting and/or publication.
