SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
May 17, 2005 7:00 PM
Anna Elementary School Cafeteria
The City Council of the City of Anna met in Special Session at 7:00 p.m, Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at
the Anna Elementary School Cafeteria, located at 601 S. Sherley Street, to consider the following
items.
Call to Order.
Meeting officially called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Mayor Kenneth Pelham.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Kenneth Pelham, Mayor Pro -Tem Mark Montgomery, Council members John Geren, JW
Finley, Jr., Buddy Hayes and Councilman Lynn Mosier was a late arrival at 7:08 p.m.
3. Consider adoption of resolution canvassing the returns of the City of Anna Election held
May, 7, 2005, to elect one Mayor and two city council members and declare the adoption
of a Home Rule Charter.
Motion to adopt resolution 2005-05-01 canvassing the returns of the May 7, 2005 election,
including change on resolution to reflect 370 as total number of votes "For' the adoption of the
Home Rule Charter instead of 369. Motion made be Mayor Pro -Tem Mark Montgomery,
seconded by Buddy Hayes.

4. Administer oath of office and present certificate of election to newly elected officials.
Elected Officials were sworn in and Oaths of Office were given to Mayor Kenneth Pelham,
Council member Lynn Mosier, Place 1 and Council member Bobby Schiener, Place 5.
A special honor of recognition was given to Council member Edwin 'Buddy' Hayes for his 21
years of dedication and service to the City of Anna.
An additional certificate with a 'Whacky" seal of approval was given in fun to Council member
John Garen.
