AN NA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
March 17,2008
The Park Board of the City of Anna held its regular meeting on Monday,March 17,2008,at 7:00
p.m.at the Community Room of Anna City Hall Administration Building,located at 111 North
Powell Parkway (Hwy 5),to consider the following items.
1.Call to order at 7:02 and establishment of quorum.All Park Board members were present.
2.Fund Raising Projects update.The fundraiser with city businesses will be on 4/25.
Avenues available to advertise at low cost or for free are online,through the elementary
school Thursday Folders,and possibly in the Anna Melissa Tribune/Anna News.The
fundraiser was named "Stay in Anna/Play in Anna".Will be presented to City Council at
their next meeting on March 25th.
3.Consider/Discuss/Act on Brochure Brick Fund Raiser.There will be approximately 45-50
trail markers available for sale.Spots will be left for markers to be added as sold so that
this can be an ongoing fund raiser.Brochure was approved by board to be presented to
City Council on March 25th.
4.Update on status of Slayter Creek Park.The recent weather conditions have held up
construction on Slayter Creek.The ground is still very soggy but they are ready to go once
it has dried out enough to begin.
5.Special Projects.
Historical resource signage-(Jon Hendricks)This information needs to be back in
sometime in May so that we can get the signs ordered in time to be placed.
Cultural resource signage-(Tara Ball)The same applies to this as the cultural
signage.
Texas Smartscape-(Deb Dennis)Deb is working with area gardens and finding
resources online to plan the garden.The garden does not have a space constraint as
much as a budget limit of approximately $2500.
6.Consider/Discuss/Act on Natural Springs Park Site Plan.March 31 the grant applications
from the county will be coming in the Maurice Schwanke.On the site plan Jon Hendricks
would like to see some clustered picnic tables added to the site plans.Added "Preliminary
Concept Plan"to the top of the map being presented to City Council.With these changes it
was voted to submit the Natural Springs Park Site Plan to City Council on March 25th.
7.Consider/Discuss/Act possibility of Chamber Ground Breaking Ceremony.The city is
looking at March 25th to 2yth as a time frame for a ground breaking at Slayter Creek Park.
The Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce was in attendance and has offered to provide
assistance in planning this event.Invitations will be sent out by the city once the date is
set.

8.Park Board Minutes.The minutes of the February 25,2008 Regular Meeting were
presented.A motion to approve was made by Tara Ball and seconded by Deb Dennis.
The motion passed.
9.Citizen comments and/or other presentations.There were no citizen comments or
presentations.
10.Adjourn at 8:24 pm.The motion was made by Tara Ball and seconded by Kelly Bailey.
Motion passed.
