ANNA PARK BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
April 21,2008
The Park Board of the City of Anna held its regular meeting on Monday,April 21,2008,at 7:00
p.m.at the Community Room of Anna City Hall Administration Building,located at 111 North
Powell Parkway (Hwy 5),to consider the following items.
1.Call to order at 7:01 and establishment of quorum.Park Board members present were
Chairman John Loyd,Vice Chairman Kelly Bailey,and Secretary Deb Dennis.
2.Fund Raising Projects update.Deb Dennis-Stay in Anna/Play in Anna will be on 4/25.
Advertising has been placed in the Anna Melissa Tribune and the Anna News for two
weeks,on the City website,at AnnaTexasOnline.com,and with fliers at various
businesses around town.Jon Hendricks was not present but it was discussed that he
still has not printed the brochures for the brick and stone fundraiser.Maurice will contact
him and try to get them this week so that we can start
3.Consider/Discuss/Act on Restroom/Concession Building Supplies.The agenda packet
has a building supply list in it with detailed amounts of what will be needed for the
building.If donations are going to happen they need to be confirmed in the next 30-45
days.
4.Update on status of Slayter Creek Park.The more grading that has happened,the less
weather will affect the construction of the park.The water line should be marked later
this week.All trees on the site should remain,they will not need to be removed for
construction but drainage may affect that area.The driveway into the park had to be
moved slightly due to the school's fiber optic line but it did not cause any major
problems.There is a construction meeting every Wednesday at 10:00 where Maurice is
updated with current progress of the park.
5.Special Projects.
Historical resource signage-(Jon Hendricks)Absent.
Cultural resource signage-(Tara Ball)Absent.
Texas Smartscape-(Deb Dennis)Maurice stated that we have some land where
we can temporarily transplant donations to help open up the time frame.Multiple
Google Groups have been joined and donations solicited,with loose commitments
made.
6.Consider/Discuss/Act Tennis Court Colors.After discussion and review of online demo
at Plexipave site,recommendation was made for Dark Green Court with Light Green Out
of Bounds Area.
7.Park Board Minutes.A motion was made to approve the March 17,2008 minutes by
John Loyd and seconded by Kelly Bailey.The motion passed.
8.Citizens comments and/or other presentations.The mayor would like to point out that
the City supports both,but does not endorse either the Anna Chamber of Commerce or
the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce.
Maurice has info of the original Mr Slayter.He has a letter from a family member with
some family info.We discussed possibly incorporating this into the park.
9.Adjourn at 7:39 pm.The motion was made by Kelly Bailey and seconded by John Loyd.
Motion passed.
