SPECIAL JOINT CITY COUNCIL I ANNA PARKS AND
RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD WORKSHOP
January 30, 2010 9:00 A.M.
Anna City Hall Administration Building
The City Council of the City of Anna and the Anna Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board met in a Special Workshop Session at 9:00 a.m., January 30,
2010, at the Anna City Hall Administration Building located at 111 N. Powell
Parkway (Hwy 5), Anna, TX 75409, to consider the following items.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Darren R. Driskell called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.
2. Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Darren R. Driskell and Council Members Keith Green, John Geren
and Becky Glover were present. Council Member Marc Hendricks was
absent. Council Member Mike Crist arrived at 9:09 pm. Council Member
Kevin Anderson arrived at 9:20 am.
Members present from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board were
Erin Cogar, Kelly Bailey, Michael Watkins and Jon Hendricks.
3. Workshop: "rhe following itemslissues will be discussed. No action
will be taken on any item:
a. Discussion regarding Council's goals and expectations for the
Anna Parks and Recreation AdviSOry Board.
Park Board members were briefed on the idea of a community center
using the barn at Natural Springs Park; discussion regarding starting the
adult softball league and field availability and maintenance; discussion
regarding a fee schedule for the community center rental; discussion
regarding new softbaillbaseball fields; improve communications with the
park board; future plans for hiring a Park Director; and discussion
regarding having a walking event or marathon run event.
4. Adjourn.
Council Member Crist made the motion to adjourn at 9:45 am. Council
Member Green seconded the motion. Motion passes.
