SPECIAL JOINT CITY COUNCIL I ANNA PARKS AND
RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD WORKSHOP
February 15, 2011 6:30 P.M.
Anna City Hall Administration Building
The City Council of the City of Anna and the Anna Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board met in a Special Workshop Session at 6:30 p.m., February 15,
2011, at the Anna City Hall Administration Building located at 111 N. Powell
Parkway (Hwy 5), Anna, TX 75409, to consider the following items.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Darren R. Driskell called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
2. Roll Can and Establishment of Quorum.
Mayor Darren R. Dliskell and Council Members Kevin Anderson, Keith
Green, John Geren and Becky Glover were present. Council Members
Mike Crist and Marc Hendricks were absent.
Parks Board members Jon Hendricks, Michael Watkins, Kelly Bailey and
Rachel Lyon were present. Erin Cogar was absent.
3. Workshop: The following itemslissues will be discussed. No action
will be taken on any item:
a. Review and Discussion of Board goals and objectives.
Maurice Schwanke, Director of Planning and Development started off the
discussion giving a summary of the boards recent accomplishments.
Discussion regarding the parks; trails; non funding of TPWD grants;
A YSA; more cover/shade for Slayter Creek Park playground; lights for
Slayter Creek Trail and maybe call boxes; review ordinances and
regulations for parks usage; and concession stands.
4. Adjourn.
Council Member Glover made the motion to adjourn at 7:17 pm. Council
Member Geren seconded the motion. Motion passes.
