SPECIAL WORKSHOP
JOINT CITY COUNCIL AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF ANNA
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT MEETING
June 7, 20117:00 P.M.
Anna City Hall Administration Building
111 N. Powell Pkwy., Anna, Texas
The City Council of the City of Anna and the Board of Trustees of Anna ISD met in
Special Workshop Session at, Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 7:00 p. m at the City Hall
Administration Building, 111 N. Powell Pkwy., Anna, Texas 75409 to consider the
following items.
The City Council and the Board of Trustees toured the new high school facility at 6:00
pm and had dinner at 7:00 pm in the Anna City Hall Administration Bldg. City Council
Meeting Room.
1. Call to Order.
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm.
2. Invocation.
3. Workshop: The following items/issues will be discussed. No action will be
taken on any item. Discussion at the meeting may be restricted to City
Council members and the Board of Trustees of Anna ISD.
City Manager, Philip Sanders started off with a presentation of the following
items; joint facilities use agreements; census results and new demographic
information; and status report on capital improvements.
Larry Johnson, Anna ISD Superintendent introduced Thomas O'Neal, who gave
a status report on TEA accountability ratings.
Discussion of joint communication/marketing efforts such as websites,
newsletters, surveys and Anna Citizen Academy, etc. were mentioned as ideas
and things being done presently to market the City of Anna and the Anna ISD.
Police Chief Jenks started the discussion of police patrols around the schools.
Superintendent Larry Johnson asked about putting up signs, lights and
pedestrian markings of a school zone for the new high school.
4. Adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.
