The City Council of the City of Anna met in specisl meeting duly called by the Mayor of said City, of his own motion, after due notice of said special meeting had been given to each off the members of said council in the manner provided by law. The following were present, to -wit: Mayor T. C. Bryant, presiding. Aldermen, T.T. C. Powell, Joe -Greer and V. B. Slaughter. Alderman F. H. Shirley was absent. Mk. V. B. Slaughter, Secretary Pro -tem, acted as Secretary of the meeting. t Said City Council`proceeded to consider an or- dinance entitled, " An ordinance granting the Texas Power end Light Company, its successors and assigns, an electric light, heat and power franchise." After glue discussion and consideration, upon motion duly made and seconded, the said ordinance was una-.z. -�— mously adopted without amendment. Thereupon, Hon. W.C.Bryant, Mayor of City of Anna, in open meeting, signed and approved a said ordinance, which is as follows: AN ORDINAINCE granting to the Texas Powef and Light. Company, its successors and assigns, an electric light, heat and power franchise. BE IT ORDAINEL' BY THE CITY COUNCIL OE THE CITY OF ANNA: Section 1: That there is hereby granted to Texas Power and Light Company, its successors and assigns, (herein called the Grant e) the right, privilege and franchise until , A.D. 19125; to construct, maintain acid operasin the resent and future streets, alleys and public places 'of the City of Anna, and its successors, electric light and pourer lines with all the necessary or desirable -appurtenances, (including underground conduits, poles, towers, wires, trans- mission lines and telegraph and telephone wires for its own use), for the purpose of supplying electricity to the said City, the inhabitants thereof and persons and corporations beyond the limits thereof, for light, heat, power and other purposes. Section 2: Poles or toners shall be so erected as to interfere as little as possible with traffic over streets and alleys. The location of all poles and towers or conduits shall be fixed under the supervision of the street and alley coimnittee of the City Council or the successors to the duties of that committee, but not so as to unreasonably interfere with the proper operation of the said lines. Section 3: The service furnished hereunder to said City.and its inhabitants shall be first class in all respects, considering all circumstances, and shall be subject to such reason- able rules and regulations as the Grantee -may make from tirr_e to time. The Grantee may -require reasonable security for the payment of its bills. where meters are used they shall be furnished and maintained by the Grantee, without rental or other charge. Section 4: The grantee shall hold the City t harmless for all expense or liability for any act or neglect of the Grantee hereunder. vection 5: The Grantee shall file its written acceptance of this franchise within thirty days after its passage and approval. 8 APPROVED the _ day of 1915. A. Marcom, Mayor, and being all of the members of the City Council. After due consideration the following preamble and resolution was unanimously carried (the I,.iayor not voting): Whereas, some confusion exists as to the true location or the east boundary line of ;what is known as Iioore Street situated within the corporate limits of the town of Anna. And whereas, because of said uncertainty as to the true loca- tion of the east boundary line of Moore Street tine adjacent property - owners have recognized and for a long namber of years have appropriat- ed certain parcels of land abutting upon said !Toore Street, especially upon the east side thereof, claiming the same in good faith, and also valuable improvements have been made by persons abutting said Moore Street, especially on either side of Fourth Street. I And whereas, it i� to the interest of the town of Anna that the east boundary line of Iioore Street should be definitely fixed and determined. Now, therefore, be it resolved that the east boundary line of said Moore Street shall be and is now fixed and determined as follows: Said east line of said Moore Street is hereby fixed and determined to conform with the west outside line of the building now erected and built, occupied by the Texas Tlectric Railway (formerly Texas Traction Company) on the south sire of Fourth Street: and on the west line of the building now occupied by the Collin County State It is further unanimously voted that the Secretar,,/ of this Council be and he is hereby instructed to make a true and correct copy of the minutes of this proceeding under the seal of the corporation, the same to be signed by the Mayor of the town of Anna, and acknowledged by him in due form for and in behalf of the town of Anna, and cause the sane when thus executed to be recorded in the deed records of Collin County, which shall be and constitute the action of said town of Anna as the muniment of title to all parties interested therein.
