A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, ADOPTING AN
EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT.
Whereas, the City desires to develop a community that offers fair and equal employment opportunities for each
citizen without regard to race, national origin, religion, color, sex, age, familial status and/or physical and mental
handicap through fair, orderly and lawful procedures; and
Whereas, the City recognizes that the denial of fair and equal employment opportunities through considerations
based on race, national origin, religion, color, sex, age, familial status and/or physical and mental handicap is
detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the City and constitutes an unjust denial or
deprivation of such rights which is in the power and proper responsibility of government to prevent; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FOLLOWING EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT
IS HEREBY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS.
ARTICLE 1
Equal Emplo moment Opportunity Statement
"The City of Anna does not discriminate on the basis of color, national origin, sex, religion, age and handicapped
status in employment or the provision of services." This shall be the employment policy of the City of Anna,
Texas, and the preceding statement shall be included on all applications for employment, advertisements for
employment, and solicitations for contract work.
ARTICLE 2
Reveal Clause
All parts of any resolution in conflict with the provisions of this resolution are to the extent of such conflict hereby
repealed.
ARTICLE 3
Savings Clause
If any provision of this resolution shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the remainder of such resolution
shall continue in full force and effect the same as if such invalid or unconstitutional provision had never been a
part hereof.
ARTICLE 4
Effective Date
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon signing.
