RESOLUTION NO. 2006-12-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS,
TO APPROVE HOLDING A JOINT ELECTION WITH THE ANNA
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas has determined that under Texas
Education Code 11.0581(a)(1) the Anna Independent School District (Anna ISD) is
required to hold a joint election with the governing body holding an election on the same
day in all or part of the same territory in which the joint election is to be held; and
Whereas, the City Council has agreed to hold a joint election with the Anna ISD
on the date in May, 2007, established by the Texas legislature for the conduct of
municipal and school district elections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANNA, TEXAS:
Section 1: Holding Joint Election
At a regular called City Council meeting council members approved holding a
joint election with the Anna Independent School District as required under the
Texas Education Code 11.0581(a)(1).
Section 2: Terms of a Joint Election Agreement
The terms of a joint election agreement must be stated in an order, resolution, or
other official action adopted by the governing body of each participating political
subdivision.
Section 3: Preservation of the Joint Election Agreement
The document containing the joint election agreement shall be preserved for the
period for preserving the precinct election records.
Section 4: Effective Date
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS, on this 12' day of December, 2006.
