RESOLUTION NO. SOM - 0 (, -A:)(1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS CHANGING THE NAMES OF AXTON
AVENUE AND JENKINS STREET TO COLLIN STREET AND MCKINNEY STREET
RESPECTIVELY.
WHEREAS, the Anna Area Historical Preservation Society has requested that the City of Anna
change the names of Axton Avenue and Jenkins Street located in the NorthPointe Crossing
Subdivision in recognition of their proximity to the historical home place of legendary Texas
figure Collin McKinney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas (the "City Council") finds that changing
the names of the aforementioned streets located in Northpointe Crossing will not have an
adverse impact on the City or the NorthPointe Crossing subdivision of the City of Anna; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to change the names of Axton Avenue and Jenkins Street
in order to recognize the home place of Collin McKinney;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA,
TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Street Names Changed
The City Council hereby changes names of Axton Avenue and Jenkins Street, located in the
NorthPointe Crossing subdivision, to Collin Street and McKinney Street respectively as
illustrated in the attached Exhibit 1.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas this 13th day of June 2017.
