RESOLUTION NO. 09-21-2004-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA. COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS,
EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE RELOCATION AND RESTORATION OF THE HISTORIC ANNA
DEPOT
WHEREAS, the City of Anna has its historical origins in its location along the Houston & Texas Central
rail line in the 1880s; and
WHEREAS, the community's early development was centered around the rail line and the railroad depot,
and
WHEREAS, the rail line through Anna is expected to be a major feature in the future growth and
development of the community; and
WHEREAS, the historic Anna depot is available to be relocated to a location at or near its original
location; and
WHEREAS, groups and individuals in the community wish to relocate and restore the historic Anna depot;
and; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS, THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL SUPPORTS THE EFFORTS TO RELOCATE THE HISTORIC ANNA DEPOT TO A
LOCATION AT OR NEAR ITS ORIGINAL SITE AND TO RESTORE THE DEPOT AS CLOSE AS
POSSIBLE TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION
DULY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas, on the 21 st day of September, 2004.
