A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS OFFICIALLY CHANGING THE
NAME OF THE SLATER CREEK WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT TO THE JOHN
R. GEREN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City of Anna has an existing wastewater treatment plant located at 1461
Roadrunner Road in the City of Anna, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the existing wastewater treatment plant has been known as the Slater Creek
Wastewater Treatment Plant; and,
WHEREAS, John R. Geren has been along -time resident in Anna; and,
WHEREAS, John R. Geren has given much of his life to public service, including serving
on the Anna City Council for twelve years; and,
WHEREAS, it is customary to name public facilities after key figures in the history of a
community; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anna seeks to recognize John R. Geren for
his service to the City of Anna.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANNA, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. Recitals Incorporated
The recitals above are incorporated herein as if set forth in full for all purposes.
Section 2. Authorization of Naming of Public Facility.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to formally change the name of the Slater
Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant to the John R. Geren Wastewater Treatment Plant
and erect an identification sign at the entrance to the site.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Anna, Texas on this 10tH
day of March 2020.
